Forsehadowing at Step 1: Going to pick up the car.
“Fans” of DTOM Racing should realize by now that Jim is plagued with more bad luck, misfortune, poor judgement and vindictive karma than any single human should burden. To truly understand this, one must know his 2009 season strategy for SpecE30 and then compare the outcome… I’ll let him fill in. Why did I sign up for this new “good idea?” I asked myself this using my outside voice once we set off in Jim’s show dog transporter to go pick up the new track rat. It began pouring rain, Jim’s weak immune system had made him even more frail, unmotivated and grumpy than usual and all I could think of was how do I interpret and act upon this sign of things to come.
Fortunately, I test drove the car, it runs great, it’s way too nice to be a race car, I didn’t wreck it (test drive would surpass out-lap) and the sun came out. Maybe it will all balance out? Stay tuned to find out.
